FUKUSHIMA JI BEER

Pilsner

Pilsner

We brew German-style beers and fruit beers using locally sourced fruits.

FUKUSHIMA JI BEER CO., LTD. was established in 1997 at St. Anna’s Garden on the outskirts of Fukushima City, and is a craft beer brand that leverages the rich nature and climate of the city.
We utilize local fruits and rice to create a diverse range of seasonal flavors. In addition to German-style beers like Pilsner and Weizen, our fruit beers made with peaches and apples are also popular, as we highly value our deep connection with the local region. A distinctive characteristic is the mild, smooth mouthfeel achieved by using meltwater from Mount Azuma. Our products are also a popular choice for souvenirs and gifts.

Fukushima-ji Beer, a craft brewery nestled in the nature of Fukushima City, is a family-run brewery founded in 1997 in Anna Garden ⛪, a beautiful tourist spot at the foot of the Azuma Mountain Range.

While basing its production on authentic German methods, the brewery constantly embraces new challenges, as factory manager Shinji Yoshida (Romanized name, not in glossary) says, "The ideas for brewing beer are endless" 🍺💫.

Using the ultra-soft natural water nurtured by the snowmelt of Mount Azuma leads to a smooth mouthfeel. The malt, which forms the foundation of the flavor, is carefully selected from Europe and other regions, and brewed meticulously by hand, one batch at a time. The commitment to ingredients stands out, such as incorporating freshly picked hops 🌿 into limited-edition beers. Furthermore, analytical equipment has been introduced to maintain stable quality, even for limited releases ✨.

The most popular standard beer is the "Pilsner," which offers a rich malt body. Flavors that utilize local blessings, such as fruit beers made with peaches and apples from Date Farm 🍑🍎, and mai beer (rice beer) brewed with Fukushima Prefecture's Hitomebore rice 🌾, are also gaining popularity.

In addition to eight standard varieties, approximately 20 types of limited beers are developed annually. The brewery features a terrace seating area with a view of the Azuma Mountain Range, where visitors can relax and enjoy freshly brewed local beer surrounded by seasonal flowers—another appealing feature.

Please come and taste the unique Fukushima craft beer born from the blessings of nature and careful handiwork 🍻✨.
