Hanaharu Shuzo

Honey Plum Wine (720ml)

Honey Plum Wine (720ml)

The quality of Aizu is in the quality of its sake; sake that becomes more peaceful the more you drink.

Hanaharu Shuzo was founded in 1718. Kyuemon Izutsuya began brewing sake in a corner of the Tennenji Gate, part of the eastern outer moat of Tsurugajo Castle, using underground water from the same source as the castle's well. The brand "Ten Masamune" was popular in Aizu and at the domain's residence, but the brewery was destroyed during the Boshin War.

After that, the brand was renamed "Hanaharu" with the wish for a "brightness like a flower and tranquility like spring" in the hearts of the people of Aizu.

Currently, we are also engaged in making liqueurs such as plum wine (Umeshu), which is based on junmaishu brewed with traditional techniques and combined with plum and honey. Inheriting a tradition of over three hundred years, the female master brewer and the brewery staff work together to continuously take on the challenge of creating new flavors.
